NASA selects Nokia to bring LTE to the moon
NASA has announced its partners to bring ‘Tipping Point’ technologies for its Moon and Mars operations, Moon being by the end of the decade. In the list of partners, Nokia is there to bring LTE capabilities to the Moon.

Google Hangouts makes way for Google Chat for everyone
In its latest blog post, Google has laid out the roadmap to migrate users from Google Hangouts to Google Chat in Q1 of 2021. Eventually, Google Hangouts features would be disintegrated and merged with other Google products before retiring it.

Carl Pei quits OnePlus
OnePlus’ charismatic co-cofounder Carl Pei has left the company. This is officially confirmed in a blog post after the news was already making rounds on Reddit. Carl was only 24 when he cofounded OnePlus with Pete Lau and has now departed after 7 years to work on other ventures.

Dr Lal PathLabs exposed sensitive data, by not password-protecting it
In another complete lack of sensitive data handling practice, Dr Lal PathLabs has exposed the data of millions of patients. The company was using AWS to store the data, without a password to protect it, allowing anyone to access the same. This was discovered by a security researcher, Australia-based Sami Toivonen, who reported it to Dr Lal PathLabs.

Haldiram’s hit by ransomware
One of the largest snacks’ manufacturers in India, Haldiram’s have been hit by a ransomware attack since July 12 midnight. The hackers have demanded a ransom of USD 750,000. The company has already lodged an FIR with the cyber cell on October 14, after internally restoring all the data.
